Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shakar was an American and British sitar artist. She was the youngest and first woman to receive an award from the British House of Commons Shield she's had nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian origin to perform live on stage and also act as a host at the ceremony. Anoushka Shakar, who is just a emerging superstar on the Indian Sitar, is Anoushka. She is the student and child of Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her beginning of her career bouncing between London and New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her first appearance at only 13 years of age. After that, she relocated in Encinitas CA, where she obtained the High School diploma with honors in 1999. Although she is still very young, Anouskha is a star in her performing and recording. She performs regularly alongside her father and has done so for a long time years. The first album she released as a solo artist, Anourag, was released in 1998. The Grammy Award-winning Live at Carnegie Hall was released two years after her debut solo album. The stage is a very important aspect of her life. She's played in many important venues across the world. Anoushka Shakar's talents are not restricted to just music. She released Bapi the Love of My Life in the year 2002. It is a biography that pays tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. Also, in movies in 2003. She acted in the film Dance Like a Man where she plays a young Bharat Natyam performer. The career of Anoushka Shankar is in the process of developing and she is expected to achieve great success in the coming years. Anoushka started her music studies at age nine. After four years, she made her appearance on the sitar in Delhi for her father's 70th birthday celebration. The father of Anoushka travelled across the world with her and she gained many experiences. While still at her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD Music Festival. She was the first woman to receive the House of Commons Shield, given by the British Parliament as recognition of her talent and musicianship in performing in the Asian Arts.
